Rubha nam Brathairean (Brother’s Point)
Our next hike took us to Rubha nam Brathairean, also known as Brother’s Point. I found this via the Earth Trekker’s website (link here). We did not explore the entire trail like they did, so check out their website for pictures from the end of the trail!
Getting There:
Continue from Mealt falls down the a855 until you reach the Glenview Hotel and Skye Pie Cafe. Just before the hotel is a car park on the right side of the road. Across from the hotel is a dirt drive with a sign leading to the hike. When we hiked this trail, so many sheep were grazing in the field we walked through. We felt a bit like trespassers!
Hiking
After exploring a bit, we headed back up the trail to the car. During this hike, we saw so many sheep. We also saw the entire life cycle of sheep from birth to death. This was the only place we hiked where we got this personal with someone’s flock.
Thoughts:
Brother’s Point was beautiful. With more time, you can explore further towards the coast or into the cliffs. We enjoyed the time we spent here, but we still had one more stop of the day! Check back next week for our photos from the Old Man of Storr! Click here for our entire itinerary! Also, you can click here for my Pinterest Board devoted to Scotland Travels. I found so many great blogs for inspiration.
Until Next Time!
